ORDER 1. Special leave granted. 2. Having held that retrenchment was bad and that it should be set aside, the High Court was not justified in not awarding back wages to the petitioner. We direct that the petitioner should be paid back wages within three months from today. The appeal is allowed accordingly. The petitioner is entitled to his costs which we quantify at Rs 500.
