ORDER : 1. The application is for convicting the respondents for contempt for disobeying the Order of this Court dated 22.2.85 directing the respondent-State to pay the entire arrears of salary due to the petitioner within a period of three months from that date. This application was filed on 31.10.1985 and we directed issue of notice on 13.12.1985. The appeal in which we made the order dated 22.2.1985 itself arose out of an application for convicting the respondents for contempt of Court filed in the High Court of Punjab and Haryana which has been dismissed by the High Court. The respondents have now produced before us an order of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana dated November 28, 1985 in which it is recorded that the learned counsel for the petitioner told the Court that the directions of the Supreme Court had been complied with and that the respondents were no longer in contempt. The order of the High Court also recites that he requested the Court to dismiss the petition as infructuous. 2. In view of the order of the High Court we dismiss the present application also. However, Mrs. Urmila Sirur, learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner never instructed anyone to appear for him and tell the Court that the order of the Supreme Court has been complied with. If this is true it will be open to the petitioner to approach the High Court with an appropriate petition for revocation of their order dated November 28, 1985. If such a petition is made before the High Court, the High Court may consider it on merits and dispose it of expeditiously. Dismissing the petition.
