(1) ALL these appeals are dismissed. We, however, direct that in addition to the interim relief already paid to the workmen under various orders the management shall pay additional interim relief for 10 months to each of the workmen within six weeks at the rate fixed by this court in its order dated 23/09/1985. The references made under S. 10 of the Industrial Disputes Act which are still pending before the Labour court shall proceed. In the references the workmen are entitled to interim relief at the same rate as ordered by this court till the disposal of the references. We leave open the question relating to the relevance of the proceedings which have already taken place in the applications made under S. 33(2) (b) in the reference proceedings open. We direct the labour court to dispose of the references expeditiously and in any event not later than 31/12/1987. The parties shall bear their own costs.
