(1) IN view of the decision of this Court in STATE OF HARYANA & ORS. V. LAL CHAND & ORS. (1984) 3 SCR 715 that the State government undoubtedly had the power to cancel the licence on the ground of default of payment of instalments and to put the liquor vend to reauction at the risk of the original vendee. (2) ACCORDINGLY, these appeals must succeed and are allowed. The judgment and order of the High court are set aside. There will be no order as to costs..
