body1987
(1) THIS is a ptition to ensurethe purity and sanctity ofthe temple of Valnniki inthe Mandir Marg, New Delhi, lt has been alleged thatthe NDMC is usingthe promises adjacent to this temple as a workshop and aiso a garbage disposai centre. Leamed counsel appearing for NDMC assures us that it would not be used as a garbage disposai centre but he submits before this court thatthe workshop in question is existing over 30 years and there is no other suitable place where it can be conveniently shifted without causing public inconvenience. It appears that this work- shop had existed from 1933 according to NDMC and according tothe petitioner from 1957. Be that as it may,the proper order inthe interest of justice would be to direct NDMC to ensure that this place should be so maintained properly in consistence withthe sanctity ofthe temple of Valmiki. It is not in any way disputed thatthe area in question is of sanctity and of dignity forthe temple of Valmiki andthe NDMC should see thatthe place is so maintained and should not be used as a garbage disposai centre. We further direct thatthe NDMC will take steps to makethe place beautifui as soon as possible. In this connectionthe petitioner will make further suggestion tothe NDMC and if such sugges- tion is madethe NDMC will considerthe same in proper spirit and except removal ofthe workshop forthe prsent will take allthe steps to maintainthe sanctity and dignity ofthe place, as a place of pilgrimage being inthe vicinity ofthe temple of Valmiki.the writ ptition is dis- posed of accordingly.
