ORDER : Es. Venkataramiah,, J. 1. Following the decision of this court in National Insurance Co. Ltd. v. Jugal Kishore & Ors. (Civil Appeal No. 3677 of 1984 decided on 9th February, 1988) we reduce the liability of the insurer to Rs. 20,000/-. The insurer shall, however, pay interest at the sum of Rs. 20,000/- at the rate of 12%, per annum from the date of the application made before the Motor Accidents Claim Tribunal till the date of payment or deposit. The balance of the amount awarded along with interest may be recovered by the claimants from the owner and driver of the vehicle involved in the case. The appeal is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
