ORDER Heard the counsel for the parties. 2. From the perusal of the record, it appears that the petitioner has remained in jail for about 19 years including remission. In original Criminal Miscellaneous No.1 of 1989 (R) we had directed that the petitioner in that case, namely Banshi Sahu alias Bansidhar' Sahu should be, released forthwith as he had remained in jail for about 16 years including remission. 3. In view of the fact that the petitioner in this case namely Rui Das alias Rui Das Goswami has remained in jail for about 19 years including remission, following the law laid down in Shrinivas v. Delhi Administration: AIR 1982 Supreme Court 1391: we direct that the petitioner be released forthwith from the jail. 4. The application is accordingly disposed of.
