JUDGMENT : 1. Rule Nisi. Heard. 2. Three persons were electrocuted and the respondent DESU paid a paltry sum of Rs. 30,000/- by way of compensation to their legal representatives who are the two petitioners before us. We are told that petitioner No. 1 Ashok Kumari has since married and is settled in life. So far as petitioner No. 2 Balwender Kumar is concerned, he has attained majority. However, the cause-title has not been so amended. The office will verify if petitioner No. 2 Balwender Kumar has in fact attained majority and if yes the cause-title will be amended accordingly. 3. For the death of the aforesaid three persons we think that having regard to their income, social background, etc., it would be fair and appropriate to grant to the two petitioners compensation Rs. 50,000/- each i.e. Rs. 1.00 lac in all, less the amount already paid. The amount payable to both the petitioners may be deposited in this Court. The petitioners will be entitled to the same equally. The amount payable to petitioner No. 1 Ashok Kumari may be paid to her by a Payee's Account Cheque drawn in her favour. So far as petitioner No. 2 is concerned, the amount less Rs. 50,000/- i.e. Rs.30,000/- may be invested in National Savings Certificate. Rs. 5,000/- may be paid to him in cash. 4. The petitioner No. 2 will also be provided with a job according to his qualifications, etc., by DESU on his making an application for the same within three months from today.
