JUDGMENT Applicant Anar Devi, wife of Ram Jatan Singh, aged 50 years, apprehends her arrest in Crime No. 182/92 (P.S. Ambah) registered under section 304-B and 201 I.P.C. Smt. Guddy, the applicant's daughter-in-law, died from bums received by her inside the applicant's house at Lakhuriyaie. There is evidence to show that one of the walls of the room had to be broken in order to get her out of the room. This occurred on 22.4.92. The girl had had a married life of three years only. Though the girl does not appear to have had a very happy life with her parents-in-law, neither the first-information report given by the Chowkidar, Khuman, nor any statements recorded by the police throw any light on the applicant's role in the following context; i) In respect of the demand for a motor bicycle, etc. ii) The specific and exact role which may have been played by the applicant in the way of harassment of the deceased. In view of the aforementioned circumstances, the bail application is allowed. In the event of her arrest in this case, the applicant be released on a personal bond of five thousand rupees with one surety in the like amount to the satisfaction of the police officer competent to accept bail under section 438 (I) Cr.P.C.
