( 1 ) HAVING perused the counter-affidavits filed on behalf of the State of tamil Nadu, we are of the opinion in all the facts and circumstances of the case that the CBI should be directed to investigate the offence relating to the attack upon Shri K. M. Vijayan and bring the culprits to book. Accordingly, it is directed that the State Police shall hand over the investigation in the said case (Crime No. 1929 of 1994, PS Kodambakkam) to CBI and CBI is directed to undertake the same and take all necessary steps according to law with all promptitude. Ordered accordingly.
