JUDGMENT This appeal has been preferred by the claimant. He is not satisfied with the amount of compensation awarded by the Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal (hereinafter referred to as the 'Tribunal'). The respondent Madhya Pradesh Road Transport Corporation has preferred cross-objections also. The brief facts which are relevant for the purposes of this appeal may be noticed. On 20th February, 1990 at about 7.30 P.M., the claimant was travelling in bus No. M.K.H. 7568. It is stated that this bus met with an accident belonging to the Corporation. This bus No. is M.P.07-4117. According to the appellant it was on head on collision. He sustained injuries above his forehead near the eyes and nose. According to him, he also sustained compound frature of tibia and fibula. He was admitted in the hospital but was discharged. According to him, he had been going to the hospital for getting treatment. According to him, he was earning a salary of Rs. 2,000/- per month. He has also stated that he was working as a Salesman. He claimed compensation to the extent of Rs. 97,000/-. The Tribunal came to the conclusion that the accident did take place and the fault lay with the bus belonging to the Corporation. After recording the aforementioned finding; a further finding was recorded that the appellant was earning a sum of Rs. 1,500/-. The Tribunal granted compensation to the extent of Rs. 35,000/-. Interest at the rate of 12% per annum was also allowed. I am of the view that there is no room for any variation in the amount of compensation awarded by the tribunal. Various judicial pronouncements supports the quantum of compensation which has been fixed by the tribunal. Thus, in Satish Sanghi v. Mihir Kumar Joshi and others, 1993 ACJ 893 , this Court fixed a total amount of compensation at Rs. 23,150/- when there was fracture of right femur resulting in shortening of leg by 1 112 inches. This appeal is without merit and the same is dismissed with no order as to costs. The cross-objections preferred by the Corporation are also without merit and these are also dismissed.
