A. P. State Road Transport Corpn. v. Chakali Narasavva

1995-10-19

K.S.PARIPOORNAN, S.C.SEN

body1995
JUDGMENT : 1. The main question is in regard to the method of calculating the compensation. This is has been re-iterated by this Court in General Manager, Kerala State Road Transport Corporation, Trivandrum v. Susamnza Thomas (Mrs..) & Ors., 1994 (2) SCC 176 . In view of this judgment which General Manager, Kerala State Road holds the field, it is clear that the multiplied method is legally and is a logically well established method of working out just compensation which will make for uniformity and certainty of the award. This Court has also indicated the range of the multiplier to be applied having regard to the various relevant factors. In view of the same we do not see any reason to entertain this petition on that limited ground because the compensation awarded in the instant case is not disputed before us. The academic question is now settled by the aforesaid decision of this Court With these observations we dispose of this Special Leave Petitions.
