ORDER Altamas Kabir, J: The petitioner's complaint is that supposedly in connection with an agreement entered into between the petitioner and the private respondent, the Police Authorities have been harassing her and calling her to the Lalbazar Police Station for the purpose of alleged enquiry. 2. As pointed out by Mr. Bose, learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner, the first of such messages was sent to the petitioner from the Officer-in-charge of Anti Cheating Section, Detective Department, Calcutta, as far back as in August 1993, and thereafter, the last message appears to have been sent on 6th December, 1994. It is rather surprising that over one and half years the Police Authorities have no been able to complete the investigation, and, on the other hand, they have taken recourse to calling the petitioner over to the Police Station for the purpose of investigation. 3. In my view, it is the Police Authorities themselves who ought to have gone out and made investigation instead of calling the parties over to the Police Station, and that too over a period of one and half years. 4. In that view of the matter, I dispose of this application with a direction upon the concerned Police Authorities not to do anything which may interfere with the personal liberty of the petitioner, except in due process of law. 5. I make it clear that in the event the private respondent has any grievance either against the Police Authority or against the petitioner he will be free to take such action as he may be advised in that regard. 6. The application is thus disposed of. There will be no order as to costs. 7. All parties are to act on a xerox signed Copy of this Dictated Order on the usual undertaking. Application disposed of.
