JUDGMENT : 1. Special leave granted. 2. The appellant was working as a senior Lecturer in the service of the respondent - Education Centre. Way back in 1976, he was dismissed from service. Since then he has been fighting zig-zag battle with the Management. As at present, the High Court has remanded the case for fresh enquiry. Keeping in view the fact that this litigation is going on between the parties for the last about three decades, we are of the view that this must be brought to an end. We are further of the view that a lump sum payment to the appellant shall meet the ends of justice. After hearing learned counsel for the parties and keeping in view the totality of the circumstances including the service rendered by the appellant, we are of the view that the respondent - Management should pay a sum of Rs. three lacs to the appellant in full and final satisfaction of all his claims against the Management. We order accordingly. Mr. Sampath states that the Management will pay the amount within two months from today. The view we have taken, we set aside the High Court order and close the litigation between the parties. On receipt of the amount of Rs. three lacs, the appellant shall have no claim against the Management. The appeal is disposed of.
