JUDGMENT : 1. Pursuant to this Court's order dated September 26, 1996, Mr. Omesh Saigal, Member Secretary, National Capital Region Planning Board is present in Court. He has suggested four sites where the Delhi Slaughter House can be re-located. The four said sites are as under: Name of Place. Distance from Rajghat. Area available 1. Hasthinapur on Bagpath Road 20/25 kms. 20-22 Ghaziabad 20kms. Upto 40 acres 2. Loni, Ghziabad District, 20kms. Upto 40 acres 3. Secunderabad about 50kms. 20-22 Buland Sahar District U.P.(stated to be the best site) about 50kms. 20-22 acres 4. Khurja about 100kms. 40 acres 2. Mr. Maheshwari and Dr. K.M. Tiwari, Additional Director, Health, DDA, are present. Dr. K.M. Tiwari states that MCD along with the representatives of the Meat Traders' Association and representative of NCR would visit the sites to find out the suitability and preference. This may be done within one week. Mr. Maheshwari will have an affidavit of a responsible officer of MCD filed within one week. We see no difficulty in MCD operating the slaughter-houses from anywhere in the National Capital Region. It can operate the slaughter-house even from the area which is outside the city of Delhi area for the benefit of the residents of Delhi. The MCD shall also have consultation with the Principal Secretary (Home), State of Uttar Pradesh and other concerned authorities of the State of U.P. and the NCR. 3. To come up on October 11, 1996.
