JUDGMENT : 1. Learned Attorney General has referred to the Government of India's order dated 20th August, 1977 at pages 158 and 159 of the paper book which has been produced along with the additional affidavit of Sh. Surendra Kumar, Joint Secretary, Government of India to apprise us of the fact that a Committee of two retired Secretaries of Government of India has been constituted to enquire into the allegations made in this writ petition and that the Committee is expected to submit its report by the middle of October, 1997. In view of this fact, we consider it appropriate to adjourn the hearing of this matter to await the report of the Inquiry Committee. We also permit the petitioner to render assistance to the Inquiry Committee in the performance of its task in the manner permitted by the Inquiry Committee so that the Inquiry Committee is able to complete its task expeditiously. 2. The matter be listed on 7th November. 1997.
