JUDGMENT : 1. Mr. Maria Susai, Deputy Director of Industries, has filed an affidavit on behalf of the Pondicheery Government. It is stated that the Pondicheery Distillery shall be relocated and shifted from the, present site within a year or so from today. We have heard Mr. Harish N Salve, learned counsel for the Pondicheery Government. We direct that the Pondicheery Distillery shall not operate on the present site beyond April 30, 1997. This Distillery shall stop all functions at the present site on that date irrespective of the fact whether the new Distillery has started functioning or not: The Writ Petition is disposed of. 2. Further directions, if any, may be obtained by the Pondicheery Government from the High Court. We, however, make it clear that time granted by us shall not be extended beyond April 30, 1997.
