JUDGMENT 1. - In the instant case the petitioner has challenged the validity of the Advertisement issued in April, 1998, contained in Annexure-4 to the writ petition by which applications were invited for the post of Electrician and S.B.A. 2. The grievance of the petitioner is that the maximum age, prescribed in the said advertisement as 25 years for the General Category candidates, is illegal and contrary to the law. He further refers that some writ petitions had already been entertained by this court and the petitioners therein had been provisionally allowed to be interviewed by the respondents. However, Mr. Ranjeet Joshi, learned counsel for the petitioner, has frankly conceded that the interviews for the said posts are over long back and the petitioner is not praying for any interim relief but he is challenging the basic advertisement issued in April, 1998. 3. The instant writ petition was filed by the petitioner on 24.9.1998. He made no attempt to get it listed on preferential basis. He is, now, coming forward after the interviews are over. No relief can be granted in a matter like this when the petitioner himself is guilty of delay and laches. So far as the validity of the advertisement is concerned, it will be appropriately determined in the pending cases. 4. The petition is dismissed only on the ground of delay and laches.Petition dismissed. *******
