ORDER : B.N. Kirpal, J. These appeals are directed against the order of the High Court which had, pending disposal of the writ petition filed before it, directed that no All-Tripura Tribal Force (ATTF)/National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) personnel should be appointed without following the prescribed rules of employment and reservation policy. The result of this was that those extremists who had surrendered could not be appointed to various posts by way of rehabilitation. These appointments were to be made pursuant to the Memorandum of Settlement dated 23-8-1993 between the Government and ATTF. A similar settlement had also been reached with NLFT. 2. While admitting the appeals, the order of the High Court was stayed. Inasmuch as the writ petition is still pending disposal in the High Court, in our opinion it will be appropriate if the High Court's interim order dated 25-11-1994, impugned in this appeal, is vacated and the appellants are permitted to make appointments of surrendered ATTF and NLFT personnel in accordance with the settlements which have been arrived at, but it should be made clear that their appointments will be subject to the outcome of the writ petition. The appeals are disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
