body1998
The prayer of the petitioner is to quash the order dated 8-7-1988 in so far as it relates to issuance of a direction to deposit stamp papers worth Rs. 43,900 on the security amount as contained in Annexure-1 to the writ petition. A further prayer has been made to command the Respondents restraining them from demanding stamp duty more than one which has been prescribed under Article 57, Schedule I-B of the Indian Stamp Act. 2. Having heard Sri J. P. Pandey, learned Counsel for the petitioner and Sri Prem Chandra, learned Counsel for the Respondent No. 2 and Sri H. R. Mishra, learned Standing Counsel for Respondent No. 1 State, we are of the view that the question raised is squarely covered by numerous judgments of this Court including one reported in Tajveer Singh v. State of U. P. & Ors. Following the reasons therein, we dispose of this writ petition accordingly. 3. The office is directed to hand-over a copy of this order within one week to Sri Prem Chandra, learned Counsel for Respondent No. 2 for its communication to and follow up action by the Respondent concerned.
