(1) THE Deputy Labour Commissioner is present in court and states that the report which was supposed to be submitted pursuant to the order of this court dated 21/9/1998 has not been submitted so far though he has already scrutinised the record. He prays that 5 weeks time be given to enable him to submit the report in question. Without getting the copy of the report no further direction can be issued in this case. We, accordingly, allow 5 weeks time to the Deputy Labour Commissioner to submit the report. (2) PUT up after 6 weeks. (3) IT is stated by the counsel for the workmen that a Contempt petition has been for non-compliance of the courts direction dated 21/9/1998. The said Contempt Petition may be listed next week. (4) SEVERAL employees of G.D. Rathi Steel Ltd. have approached this court for clarifying the order dated 13/5/1998 and directing that the said order would apply to the present applicants as well as the further direction to the management to pay compensation in terms of the provisions of the Industrial Disputes Act. The order dated 13/5/1998 was passed by this court on a Contempt Petition being filed by four other employees wherein it has been categorically indicated that for compensation the employee will have to choose some other forum. Further, it has been stated in the said order that in view of the offer of the management, the employees concerned, namely, four in number could approach the company for being reinstated. There is no ambiguity in the said order which requires any further clarification. The relief sought for by these applicants cannot be granted by this court. So far as the prayer for compensation in terms of the Industrial Disputes Act is concerned, they may approach the appropriate forum for the said relief. These applications are accordingly dismissed.
