Ashok Kumar Khatri v. State of Raj.

1999-10-08

BHAGABATI PRASAD BANERJEE, SHIVARAJ V.PATIL

body1999
Honble PATIL, CJ.– The petitioner in this writ petition wants this Court to issue directions in public interest to enforce the State Government notification by virtue of which, the State Government has already banned the sacrificing of animals. (2). The case of the petitioner is that notwithstanding the notification of the State Government, the exercise of sacrificing the animals is still continuing. In this regard, it would be appropriate that if there is any specific instance, then, the same may be brought to the notice of the District Authorities and Police Authorities by the petitioner and it is expected that these authorities will act pursuant to the directions issued by the State Government in this regard from time to time. One such direction issued by the Home Department, Government of Rajasthan dated Sept. 23, 1975 has been produced by the petitioner alongwith this writ petition. As and when such violation is brought to the notice of the State authorities, they will act in accordance with the law. (3). With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
