( 1 ). Learned counsel for the State of orissa submits that the issue regarding appointment of Dowry Prohibition Officers under Section 8-B of the Dowry Prohibition Act is pending consideration with the government. He submits that within four weeks he shall try and get the requisite information of the latest position. Learned counsel further states that the Rules under Section 8 of the Act are being framed and that the issue regarding the constitution of the Advisory Board is also under the active consideration of the government. Learned counsel seeks four weeks time to convey information on an affidavit of a responsible officer the status situation on all the three issues. We grant his request. ( 2 ). Learned counsel for the State of himachal Pradesh states that the Advisory board has already been constituted and the framing of the Rules under Section 10 of the Dowry Prohibition Act is also under active consideration of the government. It is stated that an affidavit shall be filed in this court in support of the submission made within four weeks. ( 3 ). The States of Assam, Gujarat, Haryana, karnataka, Maharashtra, Manipur, meghalaya, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and the union Territories of Chandigarh, Dadar and nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Pondicherry and National Capital Territory of Delhi have not as yet framed the Rules under Section 10 of the Act. Learned counsel for these States/ u. Ts. pray for some more time to enable the respective governments to frame Rules. We grant six weeks time, as prayed for. ( 4 ). Insofar as the State of Punjab is concerned, it is submitted that an Advisory board has been constituted and Rules have also been drafted. Four weeks time is granted for filing an affidavit in that behalf. ( 5 ). The States of Karnataka, Kerala, rajasthan, Tripura and U. P. have not constituted the Advisory Boards so far. Six weeks time, as prayed, is granted to the learned counsel to report the latest status position with regard to the constitution of the board. ( 6 ). List the matter after six weeks, as requested by learned counsel for the parties for further consideration. .
