JUDGMENT : Monitoring Air Pollution at Taj: Mahajan Committee Report: 1. The officers who have been summoned to be present today are present before us. They have been summoned to impress upon them the seriousness of the matter and also the urgency of the situation. Learned counsel appearing for the State of U.P. submits that the defects pointed out in the Mahajan Committee report will be rectified by the next date of hearing. He further submits that one or two aspects mentioned in the report require clarification for which lie wants to file an affidavit. By 18th October the State of U.P. would file its affidavit giving response to the Mahajan Committee report. Mr. P.P. Malhotra, learned senior counsel appearing for U.O.I. will also file reply regarding compliance with the various defects pointed out in the Mahajan Committee report. 2. Agra Heritage Fund: An affidavit would also be filed by 18th October as to whether the amount paid by the Income-tax Department has been received by the State of U.P. and if so, as to when the said amount, if not already transferred to the Agra Heritage Fund, will be transferred to the said fund. It will also be clarified whether the Agra Heritage Fund has been constituted and if so, under what order of the Government. 3. C.P.C.B. reports to be put on its Website: During the course of hearing of the matter today, counsel for the State of U.P. stated that the copies of various reports of the Central Pollution control Board are not being supplied to the State. Learned counsel appearing for the Central Pollution control Board submits that the furnishing of copies of various reports to various parties has been somewhat expensive and it would be advantageous if this information is placed on its Web Site. We therefore direct that the Central Pollution Control Board to place information regarding its reports in matters coming up in this Court on its Web Site so that all parties concerned may be able to receive the information. List the matter on 18th October 2000.
