ORDER : 1. A statement has been placed before us made by the National Human Rights Commission stating, inter-alia, that it had made comprehensive recommendations for amendments in the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993 and which are under consideration of the Government of India for taking further steps. 2. In view of this, the issue involved in the writ petition would most likely be covered by the proposed amendment. On this basis, the Commission seeks permission to withdraw the writ petition. The writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn. The statement be kept on record.
