JUDGMENT : 1. On 23rd February, 2001, it was submitted on behalf of the petitioner, by Mr. Nariman, learned senior counsel, that petitioner would prepare a comprehensive representation on the important issues involved in the case and send the same to Malimath Committee which has been constituted by the Government of India to go into various aspects for revamping of criminal justices system. We are informed that a representation was sent by the petitioner on 23rd April, 2001. According to Dr. Singhvi, learned senior counsel, who appears for the petitioner, the petitioner has not been informed so far whether Malimath Committee is examining the issue or not. Let a request go from the Registrar General to the Chairman of the Committee, former Chief Justice V.S. Malimath, to inform the Court as to whether the issue is being examined by the Committee and if so, what is the stage of examination? 2. Post in the 3rd week of September, 2004 on a non-miscellaneous day for directions.
