One of the questions canvassed in these appeals is whether interest can be charged on the solatium, i.e., the amount envisaged in Section 23(2) of the Land Acquisition Act. In the light of our decision in Sunder v. Union of India, Civil Appeal No. 6271 of 1998 and batch dated 19.9.2001 that contention is upheld. 3. For deciding other issues, if any, raised in these appeals, let these appeals be placed before an appropriate Bench for disposal.
