( 1 ) WE are surprised to find that shack dwellers have been relocated to the area where there is hardly any infrastructure and provision for basic facilities. The authorities must have been aware of the area to which shack dwellers were to be shifted and by what date. This being so it is difficult to envisage why steps were not taken in advance to provide electricity, roads and drains and to install sewer lines and water pipes in the area. ( 2 ) LET the Vice Chairman, DDA; Engineer-in-Chief PWD and Additional Commissioner Slum be present on the next date. ( 3 ) THE Chairman, DTC, who is present in Court, says that any deficiency in the service in the area shall be removed. The DTC shall file an affidavit giving details of the compliance of the order passed by us. ( 4 ) ISSUE fresh notice to Delhi Jal Board and Delhi Vidut Board. Service be additionally effected through their respective standing counsel. The Registrar shall call the explanation of the concerned officials who failed in getting the service effected on Delhi Jal Board and Delhi Vidut Board. ( 5 ) MR. Sanjeev, learned counsel appearing for the Directorate of Census on instruction from Mr. Hari Kishan, Director, Census Operations, Delhi, says that the Census work is required to be carried out by the Teachers before and after the school hours. He says that the education or the children shall not suffer because of the Census work. The Director of Education and the Director, Census Operations shall ensure that the Teachers who have been deployed for census work discharge their duties as teachers during school hours and impart education to the children. Sistani, learned counsel for the Director of Education has presented before us a copy of order dated 10/2/2001 of the Chief Secretary, which seeks to ensure the attendance of Teachers in schools during school hours.
