( 1 ) LEARNED Counsel for the petitioner, MCD and Education department say that there are certain schools which are still without electricity potable water and toilets. Ms. Chandhiok, President of the Bar is also present. He says that he will find out as to whether some NGOs or Corporations could provide toilets and potable water in some of the schools and maintain the facilities after they are created. ( 2 ) SINCE some of the schools ace without electricity, we consider it appropriate to issue court notice to DVB. We order accordingly. ( 3 ) LEARNED counsel for the petitioner say that he has reported large number of schools and will be filing a report before the next date. ( 4 ) MR. Sistani, learned Counsel appearing for the Director of Education, and Mr. Raman Duggal, learned counsel appearing for the VCD, state that they will circulate the judgment of this Court dated 1/12/2000 in C. W. P. No. 196/98 to the Principals of all the schools under the control of their clients. It is also stated that the MCD and the Director of Education shall issue directions to the Principals of the schools to the effect that the garbage generated in the schools should not be burnt and should be placed in the municipal bins. ( 5 ) WE deem it appropriate to place on record, our appreciation for the good work done by Mr. Srivastava, Deputy Director, Education, who, we are told, has taken lot of interest in improving the conditions in the schools, falling in his area. ( 6 ) LEARNED Counsel for the MCD, Director of Education and Directorate of Census Operation, state that they will seek instructions from their clients to make a statement before us to the effect that the teachers who have been assigned census work will be attending the schools and will take up classes during the school hours and the census work will be taken up before or after the school hours. List the application on 6/2/2001. A copy of this order be given dasti to Mr. Chandiok, learned senior counsel, under the signature of the Court Master, who will circulate the same to the other counsel.
