Judgment 1. Heard learned counsel for the parties. 2. The petitioner has filed the present writ application for a direction to the respondents to give him telephone connection as he has already applied for the same and fulfilled other requirements. 3. Learned counsel appearing for the Central Government submitted that telephone connection cannot be given to the petitioner unless he clears up the dues of the telephone which was running in the name of his wife. 4. In view of the aforesaid submission made by the learned counsel for the Central Government, I am of the view that no relief can be granted to the petitioner at this stage. The petitioner should first clear up the entire arrears of telephone bill standing in the name of his wife. If the petitioner deposits all the arrears, then the authorities will consider his case for grant of fresh telephone connection or for restoration of telephone connection of his wife within one month from the date of aforesaid deposit. 5. With the aforesaid direction, this writ application stands disposed of.
