Judgment 1. Heard the parties. 2. The petitioner retired on 31st January, 1993 from the post of Sanitary Inspector of Ghanshyampur block in the district of Darbhanga. He has not been paid the proceeds of G.P.F. till date mainly because certain discrepancies arose in respect of his G.P.F. account number. That has been resolved and the balance figures were sent by A. G. Bihar in the year 2000. The petitioner objected to the balance figures and pointed out certain discrepancies and filed documents to support his claim. The office of A. G. Bihar forwarded the objection of the petitioner along with copies of documents through letter bearing No. 1986 dated 18.12.2001 to the District Provident Fund Officer, Darbhanga. However, counter affidavit filed on behalf of the District Provident Fund Officer, respondent no. 4, is of the year 2000 and does not disclose what action has been taken on the basis of the petitioners objection communicated through A. G. Bihar in December, 2001. 3. The petitioner retired long back and now when all the materials are available with respondent no. 4 at least since December, 2001, respondent no. 4 must take final decision in respect of petitioners claim for proceeds of G.P.F along with statutory interest at the earliest and in any case within a period of six weeks from the date of production/communication of a copy of this order. 4. Let a copy of this order be given to learned counsel for the petitioner as well as learned counsel for the State. 5. Let this matter be listed after eight weeks under the same heading and by that date, the final decision taken by the respondent no.4 should be brought on the record.
