ORDER : S. Rajendra Babu, J. The appellant has been convicted for an offence punishable under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act and sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment for three months. 2. It is now brought to our notice that the parties have settled their dispute outside the court. Bearing this aspect of the matter in mind, we reduce the sentence that has been imposed to a fine in a sum of Rs 1000 which shall be payable within four weeks from today. In default, the appellant to undergo imprisonment for a further period of one month. 3. The appeals are disposed of accordingly.
