ORDER : 1. The Government which has sufficient land to enable it to give it to the Officers Club does not have enough land when it comes to setting up of the Family Courts. It is a sorry state of affairs. In the affidavit which has been filed by the Delhi High Court there is a reference to a meeting with the Land & Development Officer and this refers to a land approximately 3000sq. meter institutional area in Rouse Avenue (Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg). We direct this land or land equally suitable, the suitability to be determined by the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court, should be allotted by the National Capital Territory of Delhi and/or Union of India for the setting up of the Family Courts within one week from today. 2. The possession of the land allotted should be given to the High Court as soon as possible thereafter. This order is being passed in view of the fact that the question regarding the setting up of the Family Courts has now been pending in the Delhi High Court since a number of years and on one ground or the other the Government has been dragging its feet with the result that the Courts have not been set up. Compliance with the order should be reported after two weeks.
