ORDER Karl Reddy, F. C. - This is an appeal under Section 3 of the Punjab Land Revenue Act, 1887 seeking to revise the order dated 8.8.2001 of the Commissioner, Jalandhar Division, Jalandhar whereby he appointed Balwinder Singh respondent as Lambardar of village Sri Hargobindpur, Tehsil Batala, District Gurdaspur, in preference to Tarsem Singh petitioner who had been appointed Lambardar by the District Collector vide order dated 9.3.2000. 2. It is settled law that the choice of the District Collector in appointment of Lambardar is not to be lightly set aside. That choice has not been shown to be perverse. Accordingly, the petition is accepted and the impugned order of the Commissioner is set aside. Announced. Petition accepted.
