JUDGMENT 1. :- Petitioner is seeking appointment to the post of PTI Grade III in pursuance to the advertisement issued for the year 1997-98, mainly on the ground that he should have been given 10 marks for participation in Inter-University Tournament and if the same would have been given, the petitioner comes in merit so as to get the appointment. 2. The marks as claimed have not been given to the petitioner only on the ground that the tournament was not held by the Education Department. However, this Court in the case of Umesh Jangid, 1998(1) WLC (Raj.) 287 has interpreted the criteria as laid down by the respondents for giving such marks and has held that irrespective of tournament held either by the Education Department or the University, the bonus marks have to be awarded to the candidates accordingly. 3. Under the circumstances, the petitioner is also held entitled for 10 marks for participation in Inter-University Tournament. The respondents are now directed to determine the merit of the petitioner after adding above marks and further give him appointment to the post of PTI Grade III if any vacancy still exists for the year 1997-98. Necessary exercise be made and orders, if required, be passed within thirty days from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. The appointment shall be from the date person lower in merit so appointed, however, shall get monetary benefits only from the date of joining. 4. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.Petition disposed of. *******
