Judgment Narayan Roy, J. 1. Heard Counsel for the parties. 2. The petitioner prays for issuance of direction upon the respondents to consider his case for promotion from the post of Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police to Sub-Inspector of Police with effect from 20-8-1994 with all monetary benefit. 3. Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submitted that juniors to the petitioners were considered for promotion to the post of sub-Inspector of Police, whereas the case of the petitioner was ignored. It is also submitted that in the last meeting of Departmental Promotion Committee (hereinafter to be referred to as "DPC") dated 17-2-2002 against some of the juniors to the petitioner were considered and promoted to the post of Sub-Inspector of Police and due promotion was not granted to the petitioner even though his case was considered saying that the writ application filed by the petitioner is pending. 4. A counter affidavit has been filed on behalf of the respondents stating therein the old gradation list is being revised and promotion is being granted according to the revised gradation list. 5. At the face of the statement made by learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner at the bar that even the juniors were consideration for promotion, the statement made in the counter affidavit is not understandable to me as to why the gradation list is being revised. Cases of promotion are considered on the basis of the revised gradation list, but irrespective of the same, cases are being considered for promotion by the DPC, as stated by learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner. 6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the matter requires consideration by the concerned respondent. 7. The petitioner, in that view of the the matter, is directed to represent his case before Respondent No. 1 for redressal of his grievances. In case, any such representation is filed by the petitioner, the same would be considered and disposed of in accordance with law by Respondent No. 1 within a period of three months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order. 8. This disposes of the writ application.
