JUDGMENT : A.S. Naidu, J. - Heard Learned Counsel for the Petitioners and Learned Counsel for the State. The Order dated 11.3.1997 passed by the learned S.D.J.M. Bhadrak in G.R. Case No. 1274 of 1990 is impugned. 2. After going through the order, I do not find any infirmity or illegality and decline to interfere with it. But then, it is submitted that on 11.3.1997, the Petitioners could not attend the Court and their absence was not deliberate but occasioned due to certain inadvertent reasons. 3. It appears that the G.R. Case is pending since 1990. Thirteen years have passed in the meanwhile. Appearing in Court on each date for 13 years, would definitely cause inconvenience. 4. In view of the aforesaid submissions, taking a lenient view, I direct that in the event the Petitioners, who are ladies, surrender before the learned S.D.J.M., Khurda in G.R. Case. No. 1274 of 1990 within two weeks from today with an undertaking to attend the court on each date, to which the case stands posted, they shall be permitted to continue on their earlier bail. 5. N.B.W. issued against the Petitioners shall not be executed within two weeks. If the Petitioners do not surrender with in the said period, it would be open to the Court below to cause arrest of them and proceed with the case. 6. The Court below is also directed to conclude the trial in G.R. Case No. 1274 of 1990 as expeditiously as possible, preferably by the end of this year.
