2003-05-01

body2003
Judgment ( 1 ) MR U. N. Bhachawat, learned Senior Counsel resumed his arguments at 11. 10 a. m. and concluded at 11. 20 a. m. Thereafter, Mr Vijay Hansaria, learned Senior Counsel started his arguments and concluded at 12. 10 p. m. Thereafter, Ms Indira Jaising, learned Senior Counsel started her arguments and argued till 2. 20 p. m. ( 2 ) STATUS quo to continue. ( 3 ) WE have heard the learned counsel for the various Hawkers Unions. In our view, more details are necessary in order to consider whether the scheme, as framed by the High Court, can be approved. One of the objections is that 1121 roads have been declared as non-hawking zones. Hawkers Unions to submit their proposals in writing, as to which roads, out of the list, can, according to them, be made into a hawking zone. They are also free to make such other suggestions which they may think fit. ( 4 ) BOMBAY Municipal Corporation to give details of the pauti-holders to whom licences were issued prior to 1999 stating therein as to how many of them were sitting in which areas or roads and what commodity they were trading in. Learned counsel for the parties are directed to circulate a copy of their praposals to all other parties on or before 16-6-2003. If any party has any counter-suggestion or objection then a copy of the same must be supplied on or before 7-7-2003. ( 5 ) LIST on 15-7-2003. Court Masters
