P. Chaitanya Prasad v. Union of India

2004-07-12

D.M.DHARMADHIKARI, Y.K.SABHARWAL

body2004
ORDER : Y.K. Sabharwal, J. SLP(C)No.....CC 5730-5732/2004 & SLP(C)No....CC 5715/2004 are taken on board. 1. Delay condoned. 2. Learned counsel appearing for Respondent No.2 i.e. University Grants Commission states that since the admission process has already commenced, the Commission has decided not to insist for this year upon admission being granted on the basis of All India Engineering Entrance Examination and also that the entire process of common entrance examination is under review by the University Grants Commission. The only grievance of the petitioners who are students seeking admission is not to make admission this year on basis of High Court directions. In view of this, we direct that the directions in the impugned judgment would not be applicable for admission in the current year. The petitions are disposed of accordingly. This order would not prejudice the rights and contentions of Respondent No.5 - Institute, on whose behalf it has been submitted, that a Review Petition is pending in the High Court.
