ORDER 1. It has been brought to our notice that the States noted hereinafter have not complied with the time schedule for completion of the admission process for 1st MBBS course as laid in Appendix E to the Graduate Medical Education (Amendment) Regulations, 2004: 1. Punjab 2. Assam 3. Bihar 4. Haryana 5. Orissa 6. West Bengal 7. Karnataka 8. Maharashtra 2. We direct the Chief Secretaries and the Secretaries of the Health Department of these States to supply the requisite information as to the date of the test, first counselling and the date of joining, to the Director General of Health Services, Government of India, by 31-7-2004. The officers concerned of these States along with the requisite records shall also remain present in this Court on 2-8-2004 showing the compliance with the Regulations aforesaid and the reasons of non-compliance, wherever the Regulations have not been complied. 3. Similar notices would also issue to Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Uttaranchal, Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu, Goa and Kerala to supply to the Director General of Health Services the information as to the date of test, first counselling and admission thereto by 31-7-2004. The officers concerned of such States and/or Union Territories which have not complied with the time schedule, shall remain present along with the relevant records on 2-8-2004. 4. Copy of this order shall be communicated to the Chief Secretaries of the above States/Union Territories telegraphically by the Registry at the cost of the petitioners represented by Mr L.R. Singh, Advocate-on-Record. Copy of the order shall also be supplied to learned counsel for the parties. Counsel for the respective States may also be served additionally. 5.
