ORDER : C.K. Thakker, J. It is not in dispute that though the petitioner was higher in ranking, his rank being 423, admission in respondent No.8-Government Dental College, Rohtak, was granted to respondent No.6 Anusha Singh whose ranking was 442. According to the petitioner, back door admission sacrificing merit was granted to Anusha Singh by Dr. (Maj.Gen.) Virendra Singh, Director, Pt. B.D.Sharma, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak. Learned counsel appearing for respondent Nos.1, 2 and 8 does not seriously dispute the allegation about the back door admission having been granted to respondent No.6, as alleged by the petitioner. Learned counsel further states that, in fact, the said Director had granted other similar admissions as well and some enquiries are pending against him. That is also the stand of the petitioner. 2. The admission was for the Academic Year 2004 and, at this stage, it is not possible to direct the admission being granted to the petitioner. The question of cancellation of admission of respondent No.6 would be examined at the stage of final hearing of the writ petition. Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that the petitioner deserves to be adequately compensated for having been denied admission though he was entitled to. It is submitted that the petitioner does not belong to affluent family and huge amounts had to be borrowed for payment of the fee which could have been avoided if, on merit, he was given admission under the State quota to which he was entitled. 3. The petitioner further seeks leave to file an appropriate application to implead Dr.(Maj.Gen.) Virendra Singh as party respondent and also file an additional affidavit in support of the claim of compensation. We allow the prayer. The application and the additional affidavit may be filed within two weeks. 4. The petition is adjourned for two weeks.
