ORDER : 1. It is pointed out by learned senior counsel for the State of Uttar Pradesh that the nodal officers were appointed on 17th October, 2005. 2. In terms of order dated 11th November, 2005, the State of Haryana has filed an affidavit according to which the acquisition of the land is likely to be completed much ahead of the time schedule. Learned counsel appearing for the Union of India points out that the aspect of declaring Eastern Peripheral Expressway as a national highway is under active consideration of the Central Government and is likely to be so declared within about two months' time. Having regard, however, to the time frame within which these projects have to be completed, we expect and hope that instead of two months' time, the Government shall be able to take the decision within a period of one month so as to facilitate the acquisition of the land. 3. The status report shall be filed in the first week of January, 2006. 4. List the matter in the second week of January, 2006.
