Judgment 1. Heard counsel for the parties. 2. The petitioners confine their prayer for payment of arrears of salary as well as current salary 3. It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioners that the petitioners are working on Class III and Class IV posts under the respondent no. 4 and ultimate control of respondent no. 5, the Collector of Begusarai, but due salary was not paid to them. 4. With reference to the counter affidavit fifed on behalf of the respondents, it is stated by learned counsel for the State that arrears of salary have been paid to the petitioners up to February 2003 and for the scheme, under which the petitioners are still continuing, allocation has been made by the State Government for the year 2003-2004. 5. In case, arrears of salary have already been paid to the petitioners till February 2003, the respondent authorities are directed to pay the further arrears of salary to the petitioners till December 2004 within a period of six weeks from today and thereafter they will pay the current salary to the petitioners on month to month basis, as permissible in law. 6. With the direction/observation aforesaid, this application is disposed of. 7. However it is clarified that in case, the petitioners have been retrenched they will be at liberty to agitate the matter in accordance with law.
