Judgment :- The Chief Justice: These writ appeals are filed against the common order dated 16-12-2002 passed by the learned single Judge. 2. It is not necessary to deal with the background of these cases, but we may briefly mention that the controversy involves in these matters is the request for refund by the writ petitioners/appellants of the privilege amount, licence fee and security deposit paid by them in respect of the liquor shops. 3. Admittedly in identical circumstances, refunds of the said amounts have been granted in the case of Tambaram Municipality, Madipakkam Village Panchayat and Ayyappanthangal Village Municipality pursuant to the orders of this Court and such persons have been given the refund also. We, therefore, are of the opinion that there should be parity and uniformity in such matters and since the writ-petitioners/appellants herein are similarly situate, they should also given the refund of the aforesaid amounts paid by them. 4. There is no force in these appeals. The writ appeals are dismissed. The refund shall be made within one month from today. W.P. No.29279 is allowed. Connected WAMP Nos.3374, 4407, 342-345 of 2003, 276 and 277 of 2004 are closed.
