Latha G. v. State of Kerala, Represented by the Secretary to Government

K.A.ABDUL GAFOOR, K.HEMA

body2005
Judgment :- Abdul Gafoor, J. Admittedly, the appellant-writ petitioner had not studied Malayalam in the course of study for her Secondary School Leaving Examination. The notification inviting application for the post of L.P./U.P. Assistant (Malayalam) requires that an incumbent applying for the post should have Malayalam as a subject either in Part-I or Part-II of the Secondary School Leaving Examination. In such circumstances, merely because the appellant had been invited for the written test or interview, she cannot be advised for appointment as she did not possess the required qualification. This aspect is squarely covered by a judgment by another Division Bench of this Court in W.A.No.334 of 2002. Therefore, we find no reason for interference. The Writ Appeal is dismissed.
