Judgment 1. Heard counsel for the parties. 2. The petitioners were working under token unemployment scheme, but their remunerations for the financial years 1999- 2000, 2000-2001 and 2001-2002 have not been paid on account of non-approval of the scheme. 3. It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioners that the matter is pending consideration before the Finance Department, and, therefore, a direction may be issued to the Finance Department to grant post facto approval of token unemployment scheme for the period the petitioners had worked. 4. Learned counsel for the State with reference to the counter affidavit also submits that the matter is pending consideration before the Finance Department for consideration. 5. Owing to the nature of the prayer of the petitioners in my opinion, it would be desirable to direct the Finance Department to take a decision in the matter, if not already taken, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order and in case, post-facto approval is granted by the Finance Department for extension of the token unemployment scheme, necessary remuneration be paid to the petitioners forthwith. 6. With the direction/observation aforesaid, this application is disposed of.
