Judgment 1. Heard counsel for the parties. 2. It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the specific procedure of implementation of unified pay scale and its fixation on 1.1.1996, as envisaged in Annexures 3 and 3/1 to the writ application, are not being carried out. 3. This matter was lastly adjourned on 10th January, 2006 on request of learned counsel for the University to file a counter affidavit specially in view of the statement made in paragraph 7 of the rejoinder filed on behalf of the petitioners. 4. Learned counsel for the University submits that the mandates, as contained in annexures 3 and 3/1 to the writ applications, have not been implemented, but the same is in process and the University in all its fairness will implement the same for unified pay scale and its fixation as on 1.1.1996 within few weeks, as a committee has been constituted for its implementation. 5. In view of the statement made by learned councel for the University at the bar. The University authorities are directed to implement the scheme of the UGC, as referred to above, in case of the petitioners and similarly situated persons in the manner as indicated in annexures 3 and 3/1 to the writ application within a period of four weeks from today. 6. With the direction/observation aforesaid, this application is disposed of.
