JUDGMENT SUJIT BARMAN ROY, C.J. : This appeal is directed against the judgment dated 24.6.1988 passed by the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Cuttack in 2(c) C.C. No.289 of 1982 acquitting the re¬spondents from the charge under Section 144 of the Employee’s Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952. Since the appeal was filed in this Court, about 17 years have elapsed. After passage of so many years since the judgment of acquittal, I do not consider it proper that it will advance the ends of jus¬tice if the finding of acquittal is interfered with and the same is converted into one of conviction. The appeal is therefore dis¬missed only on that ground. Appeal dismissed.
