Judgment :- (Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the respondent to receive the petitioner's application, dated 29.05.2006, and consider the same in accordance with law and thereby grant drug license to the petitioner.) Considering the limited scope of the prayer in the writ petition, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal. 2. The writ petition has been filed for a direction directing the respondent to receive the petitioner's application dated 29.05.2006 and consider the same in accordance with law. 3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Government Advocate, for respondent. 4. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the writ petitioner that the petitioner had submitted an application dated 29.5.2006 for grant or renewal of a license to sell stock or exhibit for sale or distribution of drugs other than those specified in schedule 'X'/or Drugs other than those specified in schedules C & C(1) and X to the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945 and also to operate a pharmacy on the premises situated at 9.A, Main Street, Pallipattu. It is alleged that the said application has not been accepted by the respondent and no reason has been stated for such non-acceptance. 5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the petitioner is permitted to file a fresh application within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and the respondent is directed to receive the same on condition that the application satisfies all the necessary requirements in accordance with law and on receipt of the application from the petitioner the respondent shall dispose of the same on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks thereafter. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Consequently the connected W.P.M.P.No.1 of 2006 is closed.
