Judgment :- (This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to regularise services of the petitioners with effect from the date of their appointment and pay wages to them as paid to the regular Cook Helpers.) This writ petition is filed for a direction against the respondents to regularise services of the petitioners with effect from of their appointment. 2. The case of the petitioners is that they were appointed as Cook Helpers under the Noon Meal Scheme on daily wages at the rate of Rs.2 per day. The petitioners apprehend that the respondents are likely to interfere with their services, hence, they had made a representation dated 13.6.2006, to the first respondent to regularise their services. Even though the writ petition was filed for a direction to the respondents to regularise services of the petitioners, the learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners would be satisfied if the first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 13.6.2006 in respect of their claim for regularisation and pass appropriate orders within a stipulated time. 3. I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Special Government Pleader. 4. Considering the above said contention, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 13.6.2006 in respect of their claim for regularisation of service as Noon Meal Cook Healpers and pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks. 5. In view of the fact that, as on date, the petitioners are working continuously as Cook Helpers in the Noon Meal Scheme on the daily wages at the rate of Rs.2 per day, till the first respondent passes orders on the representation of the petitioners status quo shall be maintained. 6. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected M.P.No.2 of 2006 is closed.
